Precision medicine is a medical model based on genetic, molecular, and cellular analysis supporting medical decisions and tailoring treatment to individual patients. Precision health focuses on predicting, preventing and curing diseases precisely.

    Analysing biological data always leads to the higher computation complexity. High Performance Computing most generally refers to the practice of aggregating computing power in a way that delivers much higher performance than one could get out of a typical desktop computer or workstation in order to solve large problems.



  • Clinical Translation Research

    CTR takes scientific discoveries made in the laboratory, in the clinic or out in the field and transforms them into new treatments and approaches to medical care that improve the health of the population.





is a research group founded around 2015 by combining research activities of two institutions, Medical Faculty of Olomouc and VSB - Technical University of Ostrava. It currently has 15 members whose activities cover several research areas from bio-medicine and computer science. Professors and associate professors of this group participate in a joint doctoral degree program called Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Moreover, they lead several grant projects and  educate new talented scientists.
